Used by Roman citizens, soldiers, and high-ranking officials, this fibula (ancient brooch pin) was fastened to garments like cloaks, tunics and togae. Fibulae were most often made of bronze and iron, but were also made of precious metals like silver and gold for those of high-status. This authentic artifact was recovered in Europe with a metal detector.
